Because caring for others starts with caring for yourself
Because caring for others starts with caring for yourself
Working in complex trauma environments can take a profound toll. The constant exposure to suffering, crisis, and human pain is not something that leaves us untouched. Over time, even the most resilient practitioners can find themselves running on empty - carrying the weight of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, or moral injury. It can impact not only how we show up in our work, but how present we are with the people we love outside of it.
I know this firsthand. As a psychologist working with first responders and frontline teams for over 17 years, I reached a point where the cumulative load of vicarious trauma and burnout left me questioning my capacity to continue. It was through this experience - and the evidence-based practices I now teach - that I learnt how to truly reset my nervous system, reconnect with my purpose, and reclaim a sustainable way of working and living.
This program was born from that journey. It’s designed not just to help you “cope” with the demands of trauma work, but to truly thrive in it. You’ll walk away with practical tools you can use in the moment, strategies to safeguard your wellbeing long term, and a personalised plan to keep you grounded, clear, and connected - no matter what challenges arise.
By the end of this program, you’ll be equipped to:
Recognise and respond early to the impacts of complex trauma—such as vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and moral injury—before they erode your wellbeing.
Spot your own triggers and early warning signs across mind, body, and behaviour, so you can take action before stress spirals out of control.
Use practical, evidence-based tools— with a focus on heart-brain coherence—to reset your system in the moment and return to clarity.
Protect your energy and boundaries, reducing vulnerability to overwhelm while sustaining your capacity to care for others.
Foster psychological safety within your teams, encouraging open conversations and building collective resilience.
Design your personalised resilience plan—so you have a clear, practical roadmap to prepare, respond, and reset during challenges, while embedding habits that sustain you long after the workshop ends.
This isn’t just another professional development workshop—it’s a reset point. You’ll leave with tools you can use immediately, strategies to sustain yourself over the long term, and the confidence that you can continue doing the work you love without losing yourself in the process. The goal is simple: to help you show up grounded, resilient, and ready—both for those you serve and for your own life beyond work.
